MEMORIES & WORDS

Photographs, and words from that time.

The Inochi Forum, organized around the University of Osaka together with three Kansai business organizations—the Kansai Economic Federation, the Kansai Association of Corporate Executives, and the Osaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry—presented the Inochi Declaration. We were honored to participate as Feel&Sense.

Masahiko Hashimoto — Feel&Sense

It was the first time in my life that I had experienced “listening” to a declaration deep within my heart. From beneath each word came a profound resonance, carrying the energy of prayer. That energy echoed through my whole body, in a moment that seemed to envelop me.

Listening to that declaration at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, together with Professor Takuo Dome—chair of the Inochi Forum Executive Committee and an aide to the President of the University of Osaka—and leading figures from Japan’s universities and businesses, felt like standing at the opening of a new civilization.

The declaration has five parts:

1. Feeling life

2. Protecting life

3. Nurturing life

4. Connecting life

5. Understanding life

At the heart of these five parts of the Inochi Declaration,

the passage to be cherished above all—the “declaration within the declaration”—became the song “INOCHI,” composed by Masahiko.

The declaration became a song without a single word being changed, as the melody came to Masahiko.

He says that a resonance was already present in those words.

The melody unfolded naturally from the words, as though it had been waiting to be born. From the first encounter to the song’s birth, everything seemed to be guided.

On October 11, we reflected once more on all the preparation that had taken place since the Inochi Forum was established.

Feeling the significance of Masahiko singing at this major milestone, we were deeply grateful again to have been entrusted with such an honorable role.

And, in another great honor,

our organization, Feel&Sense,

was placed at the very beginning of the action plans for proposal 1-1-1, the first proposal in Chapter 1, “Feeling Life,”

with our proposal for the INOCHI WORLD PROJECT.

Many distinguished figures, including pavilion producers, have also contributed proposals.

The INOCHI Orchestra, announced at the Expo on September 27, and the INOCHI Choir—which carries the wishes of the Inochi Forum through the declaration as the song “INOCHI”—

will continue to work with artists, orchestras and choirs around the world. Through the resonance of life, we hope to make this a project that changes the world, surrounding it with pure love and the sound of life.
